As per the sources, the Enforcement Directorate has lodged a prosecution complaint naming Karti Chidambaram, S Bhaskararaman, and numerous firms as defendants in the case.

Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal contended that there is insufficient evidence against the accused, emphasizing that no money laundering charges can be substantiated without allegations of funds being transferred to Karti Chidambaram.

He highlighted that the transaction in question dates back to 2011, yet the case was only registered in 2022. Sibal also stressed that Karti Chidambaram has been actively participating in the investigation and cooperating fully.
