'Convoy bigger than Trump': Kejriwal slammed for massive entourage during 10-day Vipassana in Punjab
PTC News Desk: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal and his wife Sunita on Tuesday reached Punjab’s Hoshiarpur for a 10-day Vipassana session starting Wednesday.
However former Delhi CM's Vipassana retreat has drawn severe backlash from BJP and Congress and slammed his "lavish' VIP security" as he arrived with massive security convoy ambulances, fire engines and a number of luxury vehicles.
The political parties have questioned that how a leader who claims to represent 'common man' can travel with such comprehensive entourage using state's resources.
Delhi Minister and BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa has questioned the lavish lifestyle of Kejriwal as he is no longer a CM or MLA.
"Arvind Kejriwal, who once pretended to be a common man in a WagonR, now moves in a lavish convoy of bulletproof Land Cruisers, 100 Punjab Police commandos, jammers & ambulances -- like a VIP Maharaja all for Vipassana, a retreat meant for peace! If power was his test, he has failed miserably," Sirsa said in a post on X.
Delhi Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh said, “As I was saying during election campaigning, after losing in Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal would run to Punjab. Now, they have a government there, he wants to safeguard it. Now, will he become a Rajya Sabha MP or Punjab CM, let’s see in the coming days."
Meanwhile AAP MP Swati Maliwal said that Kejriwal's convoy is even bigger than that of Trump.
“Kejriwal, who criticised the entire world for VIP culture, is today roaming around with a security cover bigger than that of Donald Trump. It is amazing how a great state like Punjab has been turned into a means of achieving luxuries," Swati Maliwal said.
