Devotees concerned over Premanand Maharaj’s health after viral video from Vrindavan

PTC Web Desk:  Devotees of Vrindavan’s spiritual leader Premanand Maharaj have expressed deep concern over his health after a recent video of him went viral on social media. In the video, Maharaj’s face appears swollen and red, and his voice trembles as he speaks, leading many followers to pray for his speedy recovery.

Soon after the video gained attention, the Shri Hit Radha Keli Kunj family issued an official statement clarifying that Premanand Maharaj is in stable health and continuing his daily routine as usual. Authorities have also urged people not to spread any rumours regarding his condition.

However, another emotional video surfaced later, in which Maharaj himself can be heard saying, “Both my kidneys have failed. There is nothing left for recovery. I have to go — if not today, then tomorrow.” This statement left his followers even more worried about his well-being.

According to reports, Maharaj is suffering from Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD),  a genetic condition that gradually impairs kidney function. The disease causes multiple fluid-filled cysts to form inside the kidneys, which enlarge over time and reduce their ability to filter blood effectively.

Medical expert Dr BPS Tyagi revealed that Maharaj was diagnosed years ago after undergoing tests in Delhi for abdominal pain. Doctors had then informed him that both his kidneys were severely damaged and that he might have only two to two-and-a-half years to live. Despite this, Maharaj accepted his fate with calmness, saying that everything happens by the will of the Almighty.

Premanand Maharaj has reportedly been on dialysis for nearly two decades, and he now undergoes the procedure daily. Many devotees have offered to donate their kidneys, but Maharaj has humbly refused, saying he doesn’t want anyone to suffer pain because of him. Interestingly, he has also named his two kidneys Radha and Krishna, reflecting his deep spiritual devotion. According to Dr. Tyagi, Maharaj’s positivity and faith have been his greatest sources of strength through these years.
