FASTag annual pass: Nitin Gadkari announces FASTag annual pass worth Rs 3,000 for private vehicles | Check Details
PTC Web Desk: In a major move towards improving highway travel efficiency, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has announced the launch of a FASTag-based annual pass for private, non-commercial vehicles. The initiative, set to take effect from August 15, will offer an annual pass priced at Rs 3,000, valid for up to 200 trips or one year from the date of activation—whichever comes first.
Exclusively meant for private cars, jeeps, and vans, the new pass aims to ensure seamless and cost-effective travel across India's National Highways. A dedicated link for activation and renewal will soon be made available via the Rajmarg Yatra App as well as the official websites of NHAI and MoRTH.
The policy is designed to address long-standing public concerns over toll plaza congestion, especially within 60 km ranges, where users often face delays and disputes. By allowing users to make a single, affordable payment for multiple journeys, the annual pass is expected to significantly reduce wait times, ease traffic congestion, and streamline toll payments.
According to Gadkari, this transformative step will enhance the highway travel experience for millions of private vehicle owners by delivering faster, smoother, and dispute-free toll transactions.
