PTC Web Desk: The United States’ Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has arrested Cindy Rodriguez Singh, a 40-year-old woman of Indian origin who was on its “Ten Most Wanted Fugitives” list, for the murder of her six-year-old son, Noel Rodriguez Alvarez.

Cindy Rodriguez Singh, accused of killing her chronically ill son in 2022, fled the US in March 2023 with her husband, Arshdeep Singh, and six of their children. The family was last traced boarding a flight to India on March 22, 2023, just days after Noel was officially reported missing. Notably, Noel was not with them on the flight and has not been seen since.

Authorities said the woman initially misled investigators by claiming that Noel was living with his biological father in Mexico. Witnesses later revealed that she had described her son as “evil” or “possessed,” and feared he would harm her newborn twins. Reports further allege that Noel, who required oxygen support due to a chronic lung condition, was abused, starved, and even denied water.

In October 2023, Singh was charged with capital murder in Tarrant County, Texas. A federal warrant for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution was issued shortly after. Interpol subsequently issued a Red Notice against her in October 2024, and she was placed in the 4th position on the FBI’s “Ten Most Wanted” list in July 2025, with the reward for her arrest increased to $250,000.

On her capture, the FBI, in coordination with Indian authorities and Interpol, transported Singh back to the US, where she will be handed over to Texas law enforcement.

“The FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list exists for cases just like this—where a dangerous fugitive thought she could hide overseas and escape justice. Thanks to relentless FBI work and international partnerships, Cindy Singh is back on American soil to face accountability for the horrific murder of her own child,” FBI Director Kash Patel said in a statement.

Singh is the first mother accused of killing her own child to be added to the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, which has featured more than 500 of the most notorious criminals in US history.
