Fire engulfs building on Barakhamba Road in Delhi's central area
New Delhi, July 15: A fire broke out on Saturday evening in a prominent office building located in the central area of Delhi. The incident occurred in the DCM building on Barakhamba Road, which is in close proximity to Connaught Place. Approximately 10 fire engines were immediately dispatched to the scene. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported thus far.
The fire originated on the ninth floor of the building, with flames visible through the windows and smoke billowing out, engulfing the floor above. As fire officials swiftly worked to extinguish the blaze, heavy rainfall added to the challenges faced during the operation.
Videos captured at the scene depict a water jet being directed towards the building from a fire truck, with the rain aiding in dissipating the smoke.
Due to the fire and emergency response, traffic movement in the area has been affected. Senior officials from the fire department have arrived at the scene to coordinate efforts and ensure the situation is brought under control.
