Former BJP Sarpanch killed, couple injured in Jammu-Kashmir terror attacks
PTC News Desk: A former BJP Sarpanch was killed, and a couple from Jaipur were injured in two separate terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. Terrorists opened fire in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian and Anantnag districts, respectively late on Saturday night.
The deceased former Sarpanch was identified as Aijaz Ahmad. According to Kashmir Zone Police, terrorists fired upon Aijaz Ahmad Sheikh at Heerpora in Shopian district.
They stated that the area was cordoned off. He was evacuated and sent to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.
"BJP leader and ex-Sarpanch Aijaz Ahmad Sheikh succumbed to his injuries after being fired upon by terrorists in Heerpora in South Kashmir's Shopian," stated the IGP Kashmir.
The second incident involved a couple from Jaipur who sustained injuries in the Yannar area of South Kashmir's Anantnag district.
"Terrorists shot and injured Farha, a Jaipur resident, and her husband, Tabrez, in Yannar, Anantnag. They were evacuated and sent to the hospital for treatment."
According to sources, the injured couple's condition is stable.
