Government blocks 16 Pakistani YouTube channels including Shoaib Akhtar's
PTC News Desk: In a series of actions against Pakistan, Indian government has blocked 16 Pakistani YouTube channels including prominent media outlets like Dawn News, Samaa TV, ARY News, Geo News, and individual creators such as former cricketer Shoaib Akhtar.
The action comes in the wake of horrific Pahalgam terror attacks which claimed lives of 26 people mostly tourists. The decision has been taken on the recommendations of the Ministry of Home Affairs, for disseminating provocative and communally sensitive content, false and misleading narratives and misinformation against India, its Army and security agencies in the backdrop of the tragic Pahalgam terror incident in Jammu and Kashmir.
As a result of the ban, access to a range of Pakistani YouTube channels - including those belonging to Arzoo Kazmi and Syed Muzammil Shah-has been restricted for Indian users.
As the users try to access these channels, a message appears on their screen stating: "This content is currently unavailable in this country because of an order from the government related to national security or public order. For more details about government removal requests, please visit the Google Transparency Report."
Meanwhile the National Investigation Agency has intensified its search for the evidences linking to the deadly attacks to hunt down the perpetrators. Several search operations have also been launched.
The incident has sparked nationwide outrage, with widespread protests erupting across the country, demanding stricter action against Pakistan over the attack.
