Haryana accident: Five dead in head-on car collision on Kaithal-Kurukshetra road
PTC Web Desk: A tragic head-on collision between two cars on the Kaithal-Kurukshetra road claimed the lives of five persons on Monday morning, the police said. The accident was reported around 7 am near Ghararsi village. Over-speeding is stated to be the reason behind the police, as per the police.
The impact was so severe that both vehicles were completely mangled. Locals cut open the car doors to rescue those trapped inside. One of the cars, carrying six passengers from Bubka village in Ambala, suffered extensive damage. Five occupants, identified as Praveen, Pawan, Rajendra, Urmila and Suman – died on the spot. Another passenger, 18-year-old Vanshika, sustained serious injuries and is receiving treatment.
Four passengers in the other car were also injured. They were identified as Santosh (45), Rishipal (55), Leela Devi (52), and Praveen (40). The injured were reportedly on their way to Mulana in Ambala for medical treatment, with Leela Devi having recently undergone surgery.
The bodies of the deceased have been sent for a post-mortem examination, while the injured were referred to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital.
