Haryana crime: Class 12 girl, two youths held for killing her father over relationship dispute in Sonepat
PTC Web Desk: Five days after a 40-year-old man was found dead in a forest near a village in Haryana’s Sonepat district, the police have detained his 17-year-old daughter and two youths in connection with the murder.
Kundli SHO Sethi Malik said the Class 12 student, along with her male friend and another accomplice, allegedly plotted and executed the killing of her father on July 30. The victim, reportedly against his daughter's relationship, was taken to a nearby forest and fatally stabbed multiple times.
“We have apprehended the girl, who is a minor, and two men — Sumit and Jaswinder. The primary motive appears to be the father’s opposition to the relationship between the girl and Sumit, who is in his early 20s,” the SHO was reported as saying.
The girl has been placed in a safe house due to her minor status, while the two men were remanded to police custody for four days starting August 3. Preliminary investigations suggest that the daughter had allegedly asked Sumit to eliminate her father so they could marry.
The police have filed charges of murder and criminal conspiracy against all three individuals involved.
