PTC News Desk: In a significant development, Haryana's Home Minister, Anil Vij, has declared that the state government will initiate a CBI probe into the tragic killing of Nafe Singh Rathee, the INLD's Haryana chief. Rathee, a former MLA, was brutally shot along with a party worker by unidentified assailants in Jhajjar.

During a session in the assembly, Vij affirmed the government's commitment to ensure a thorough investigation, stating, "If the House deems a CBI probe necessary, we will readily hand over the case to the CBI." This decision comes in response to mounting demands from opposition members for a high-level inquiry, either overseen by a high court judge or monitored by the CBI.

The incident, which occurred in Jhajjar's Bahadurgarh town, sent shockwaves through the state, highlighting concerns about law and order. Rathee's SUV came under a hail of bullets, resulting in fatal injuries to him and a party worker. Additionally, three private security personnel hired by Rathee sustained injuries in the attack.

The gravity of the situation prompted the assembly speaker to entertain an adjournment motion on law and order, allowing for a discussion on the alarming rise in violence. The opposition Congress party underscored the need for a comprehensive investigation into Rathee's murder, amplifying calls for judicial oversight or CBI intervention.

In parallel developments, the Haryana Police initiated legal action against former Haryana MLA Naresh Kaushik and 11 other individuals in connection with Rathee's tragic demise. These developments underscore the urgency and seriousness with which authorities are addressing the case, seeking justice for the victims and their families.

Family of slain INLD chief refuses cremation until murder suspects apprehended

The family of Nafe Singh Rathee, the INLD chief, has declined to perform his last rites until the perpetrators of his murder are apprehended.

Speaking to ANI, Rathee's son Jitendra expressed frustration over the lack of security provided by the police administration, emphasizing his father's longstanding requests for protection as a national leader. He urged political parties to have supported his father before the tragedy occurred. Echoing this sentiment, Rathee's nephew Kapoor stated that they would not proceed with the post-mortem until the suspects are arrested, asserting that they have identified the individuals involved.

In response to the situation, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar assured that every individual involved in the case would face consequences. He directed the police to expedite the arrest of the accused and ensure stringent action against them.
