Himachal weather: IMD issues orange alert in these districts; check details
Orange alert in Himachal Pradesh: Alert for tourists to avoid visiting Himachal Pradesh this weekend as the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday issued an orange alert for eight districts of Himachal Pradesh.

Shimla,
Sirmaur,
Bilaspur,
Hamirpur,
Kangra,
Mandi,
Una.
Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) also took to its official Twitter handle and wrote, Alert: Intense Rainfall Ahead An orange alert has been issued for #HimachalPradesh. Prepare for heavy to very heavy rainfall ranging from 115.6 to 204.4 mm on 12th &13th August. Stay safe and stay informed! #WeatherAlert #RainfallWarning.”

It is to be noted that from the past 24 hours, Kangra, Solan, Mandi, Bilaspur, and Hamirpur districts received considerable heavy rainfall.
As per the data collected, Palampur recorded 102 mm, Sujanpur Tira received 92 mm, Bijhi and Mandi received 90 mm of rainfall.
The National Highway number 5 running through Himachal Pradesh was temporarily closed at Chakki Mod near Parwanoo in the state's Solan district due to landslides.
According to officials, over 200 roads across the state are still closed due to heavy rainfall and subsequent incidents of landslides and falling debris from hills.
Moreover, over 200 electricity supply schemes are also chamfered.
1. Avoid visiting hilly areas and places prone to landslides and heavy rainfall.
2. Avoid trekking amid inclement weather.
3. Avoid areas prone to waterlogging
4. Stay away from vulnerable structures
5. Do not visit river areas.
6. Pay attention to the warnings issued by the weather department.
