IIT Bombay student from Delhi falls to death from hostel terrace
PTC News Desk: A 22-year-old student of IIT Bombay died after falling from hostel terrace on Saturday morning.
The BTech Meta Science student, identified as Rohit Sinha, resident of Delhi, was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead. A case has been registered at Powai Police Station and a probe is underway.

In a statement on X, IIT Bombay said, “It is with deep sorrow that we inform you of the untimely passing of our final-year student, Mr. Rohit Sinha... in a tragic incident that occurred late last night.”
The student was pursuing a course in Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science and was in his fourth year.
Recently the Supreme Court had flagged rising student deaths across eduational institutions and also issued guidelines pointing to academic stress, social pressures, and lack of mental health support as key concerns.
