India rejects China's attempts to rename Arunachal Pradesh: 'Creative naming won't alter identity'
PTC News Desk: India has categorically rejected China's another attempt to rename Indian state Arunachal Pradesh reiterating that the state is an integral part of India. This comes two days after China’s Civil Aviation Ministry on May 11-12 released new names for 27 locations in Arunachal Pradesh in another attempt to assert claims over Indian territory.
"We have noticed that China has persisted with its vein and preposterous attempts to name places in Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh," said MEA.
The MEA added, “Consistent with our principled position, we reject such attempts categorically. Creative naming will not alter the undeniable reality that Arunachal Pradesh was, is, and will always remain an integral and inalienable part of India.”
This wasn't the first time that China attempted to rename Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. Earlier in 2024, China had released a fourth list of 30 new names of various places along the line of actual control (LAC) in India's northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh.
Meanwhile, India has stayed firm in its rejection of China's attempt to claim territories in Arunachal Pradesh, asserting that the state is an integral part of the country and assigning 'invented' names does not alter this reality.
