Indian Army foils infiltration bid in Jammu and Kashmir, two terrorists neutralised
PTC News Desk: The Indian Army on Thursday foiled an infiltration bid in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora district and gunned down two terrorists.
The encounter took place near Naushehra Naar under Operation Naushera Nar IV, where alert troops engaged a group of infiltrators trying to cross into Indian territory. A brief exchange of fire ensued, resulting in the elimination of two terrorists.
At daybreak, the Indian Army initiated a large-scale search operation in the region to confirm that no other infiltrators were present. During the sweep, the bodies of the neutralized terrorists were recovered. After the encounter, security forces continued combing the surrounding areas to eliminate the possibility of additional infiltrators or any suspicious movement.
“Based on intelligence provided by JKP regarding likely infiltration attempt, a joint operation was launched by Indian Army and @JmuKmrPolice in Gurez Sector. Alert troops spotted suspicious activity and challenged, which resulted in terrorists opening indiscriminate fire. Troops responded with effective fire, neutralising two terrorists. Operation is in progress,” Indian Army shared an update in a post on X.
