IndiGo flight delayed after pilot refuses to fly; passengers act unruly, video viral

PTC Web Desk: A Mumbai-bound IndiGo flight to Thailand’s Krabi faced a major delay on Thursday after the pilot refused to operate the aircraft, citing duty-hour limits. The incident led to chaos onboard, with a video showing heated arguments between passengers and cabin crew.

Flight 6E 1085, scheduled to depart at 4.05 am, was delayed by over three hours, according to flight-tracking site Flightradar24. The video circulating online shows passengers confronting the crew, demanding explanations, and in one instance, kicking the aircraft’s exit door.

IndiGo issued a statement explaining that the delay was caused by multiple factors, including the late arrival of the incoming aircraft, air traffic congestion and the crew reaching the maximum allowed duty hours.

The airline added that two passengers behaved inappropriately during the wait and were declared unruly. “As per protocol, they were deboarded and handed over to security agencies, which caused further delays,” the statement said.

IndiGo also noted that meals and refreshments were provided several times to help passengers during the extended wait. The flight, originally scheduled to land at 10 am, reached Krabi around 1 pm.

The airline expressed regret over the inconvenience and emphasised its commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all passengers.
