IndiGo issued a statement explaining that the delay was caused by multiple factors, including the late arrival of the incoming aircraft, air traffic congestion and the crew reaching the maximum allowed duty hours.
The airline added that two passengers behaved inappropriately during the wait and were declared unruly. “As per protocol, they were deboarded and handed over to security agencies, which caused further delays,” the statement said.
IndiGo also noted that meals and refreshments were provided several times to help passengers during the extended wait. The flight, originally scheduled to land at 10 am, reached Krabi around 1 pm.
The airline expressed regret over the inconvenience and emphasised its commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all passengers.
