Israel Embassy attack: NIA, Delhi Special Cell, dog squad launch probe into blast call incident

Israel Embassy attack: A day after Delhi Police received a call about powerful explosion which rattled the vicinity near the Israel embassy in New Delhi on Monday, prompting escalated security measures in the area, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) launched a probe to investigate Embassy attack threat incident.

Launching a probe to investigate the incident, NIA officials, along with the Delhi Special Cell and Dog Squad initiated a probe into the blast call incident and began their inquiries outside the embassy building.


Meanwhile, two suspects have been captured in CCTV footage of the area. Delhi Police is meticulously reviewing footage from nearby cameras, piecing together the suspects' possible route to the embassy, and looking for potential accomplices. However, the officials have not yet confirmed the duo’s involvements in the case. 

“Their role in the 'blast' call incident is not yet clear. We are trying to ascertain their identity and what were they doing in the area at the time of the call. Things will become clear only after their questioning," Delhi Police said.

Teaming up with NIA, Delhi Special Cell and dog squad, the Delhi Police team is examining CCTVs in nearby areas to find out as to how the two suspects reached there and which route they took.

Amid the police call, Delhi police found a letter addressed to the Israeli ambassador near the Israel Embassy on Tuesday evening in connection with the 'blast' call. "A letter has been written in English to the Israeli Embassy in which threatening words are used. The group whose name is written on the letter is Sir Allah Resistance." 

Notably, Delhi Police on Tuesday received a call that a 'blast' was heard near the Israel Embassy in the Chanakyapuri area, but officials said that nothing as such was found at the spot of the incident.

Meanwhile, security in the area has been increased in the area, and police are monitoring through CCTV cameras.
