Kapil Sharma's Canada cafe firing linked to Salman Khan's presence at inauguration: audio threat surfaces
PTC Web Desk: In a startling development amid the investigation into the recent shooting incident at comedian Kapil Sharma's café in Canada, an alleged audio clip has emerged linking the attack to actor Salman Khan's appearance during the venue's inauguration.
According to a report by India Today, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang is heard in the audio threatening to shoot any artist, director, or producer who chooses to work with Salman Khan. The gang member reportedly claimed that both shooting incidents at Kapil Sharma's café in Surrey—one in July and the second on Thursday—were triggered by Salman Khan’s presence at the cafe launch, which was mentioned in the debut episode of Netflix’s The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 3.
India Today, which claims to have exclusively accessed the audio, quoted the gangster saying, “The first and now second firing at Kapil Sharma's restaurant happened because he had invited Salman Khan to the inauguration on a Netflix show.”
The audio also allegedly contained threats to kill “small-time actors and directors” seen collaborating with Khan.
The latest firing occurred on Thursday when unidentified gunmen opened fire at Kap’s Café in Surrey. This marks the second such incident in weeks. Thankfully, no one was injured in either attack. Local police in Surrey are currently investigating the matter but have not yet released further details regarding those responsible.
This isn't the first instance where a celebrity or property abroad has come under threat due to links with Salman Khan. Earlier, Punjabi singer AP Dhillon's Vancouver residence was targeted in a similar manner. The attack came shortly after Dhillon featured Salman Khan in one of his music videos, following which he reportedly received threats from the Bishnoi gang.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has been targeting Salman Khan for years, largely due to the 1998 Blackbuck poaching case. The Bishnoi community considers the blackbuck sacred and has expressed longstanding outrage over Khan's alleged involvement. In 2023, the actor received multiple death threats from the gang, including a firing incident outside his Bandra residence in Mumbai.
