Karni Sena chief killing: The first arrest related to the tragic murder of Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi has been made by the police. Ramveer, suspected of aiding the shooters, Rohit and Nitin, in their escape by providing them transport to Ajmer Road on his motorcycle, has been taken into custody.
According to the authorities, the apprehended individual resided in the same village as one of the shooters, Nitin. The incident unfolded on December 5 at Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi's residence in Jaipur. Gogamedi was in conversation over tea with four individuals when suddenly, amid the discussion, two of them abruptly stood up and fired multiple shots at him, leaving him critically injured and lying in a pool of blood.
The shocking murder, captured on CCTV, triggered widespread outrage and protests across Rajasthan. The state is undergoing a significant political shift following the BJP's recent victory in the assembly elections, which saw them overthrow the incumbent Congress government.
Meanwhile, the recent murder of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, a prominent Rajput leader in Jaipur, has sparked widespread protests in Rajasthan. Intelligence inputs suggested that Gogamedi was under threat, with warnings from the Punjab Police to their counterparts in Rajasthan about potential dangers to him.
Additionally, the Rajasthan Police's anti-terrorist squad had also flagged a threat to the Rajput leader. Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, who led fringe outfit Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, had reportedly requested police security, which was not provided. Tragically, he was fatally shot in his Jaipur home by three men who had a meeting with him. The murder was captured on CCTV.
