Karni Sena issues threat to Punjab Governor over his remarks against Maharana Pratap
PTC News Desk: The Kshatriya Karni Sena has allegedly threatened Punjab Governor Gulabchand Kataria over his comments on Maharana Pratap, police said.
In a social media post, Karni Sena national president Raj Shekhawat accused Kataria of disrespecting the Rajput warrior and urged Sena members to attack the governor “wherever and whenever” they encounter him.

The controversy stems from Kataria’s remarks at a stone-laying ceremony in Gogunda, Udaipur district, on December 22. During his speech, Kataria said that Maharana Pratap’s legacy received prominence during the BJP’s rule and not earlier, a statement that sparked protests and criticism. He also claimed that development funds were directed to places such as Gogunda, Haldighati and Chavand during the BJP government.
Kataria’s comments drew sharp reactions on social media, with some users backing the Karni Sena leader. Udaipur Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal said the issue is under review, adding that no formal complaint has been filed by the governor so far.
