New Delhi, November 28: Light rain brings slight relief to Delhi's air quality as the Met Office forecasts more showers across north India, signaling a dip in temperatures. The IMD predicts colder weather and fog pockets in several regions.

Northwest and central India anticipate a 2 to 3 °C drop in minimum temperatures, marking the onset of winter. Showers are expected in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand in the coming days. Foggy conditions are predicted for isolated areas in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, north Rajasthan, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura over the next two days.

Additionally, heavy rainfall is foreseen in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, while light rain is anticipated in southern states over the next three days. An advisory cautions fishermen against venturing into certain seas, signaling potential risks in the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal on specific days.

Recent rain and hail in Delhi slightly improved air quality but maintained a 'very poor' status. Temperatures remained below average, with flight diversions due to the downpour. In Madhya Pradesh, unseasonal rains and thunder claimed lives, including a married couple struck by lightning. Several districts experienced heavy rainfall, causing casualties and disruptions.

Marathwada in Maharashtra witnessed unexpected downpours, affecting multiple revenue circles in various districts. Rajasthan saw light to moderate rainfall, with Barmer's Sinderi area recording the highest precipitation of 6 cm in the last 24 hours.
