LPG price hike: Commercial cylinder price increased by Rs 15; check rates in your city
PTC News Desk: Ahead of Dussehra, Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have announced a ₹15 increase in the price of commercial LPG cylinders effective October 1. The price of the 14.2 kg domestic cylinder, however, remains unchanged.
This comes after four consecutive cuts in commercial LPG rates by OMCs. Starting September 1, the price of commercial cylinders was reduced by ₹51.50. Earlier, on April 1, OMCs had lowered commercial LPG prices at the beginning of the financial year, cutting the cost of a 19-kg cylinder by ₹41.
Between April and July 2025, the price of 19-kg commercial cylinders was reduced by a total of ₹138 in Delhi, ₹144 in Kolkata, ₹139 in Mumbai, and ₹141.5 in Chennai. In contrast, domestic LPG prices have remained steady since a ₹50 hike on April 8, 2025. The current rates for a 14.2-kg domestic cylinder are ₹853 in Delhi, ₹879 in Kolkata, ₹852.50 in Mumbai, and ₹868.50 in Chennai.
As of August 1, 2025, the non-subsidized 14.2-kg LPG cylinder prices were set at ₹852.50 in Mumbai, ₹853 in Delhi, ₹868.50 in Chennai, and ₹879 in Kolkata.
