Ladowal toll plaza rates hiked from April 1; cash payments to end at Punjab’s busiest toll
Ladowal toll plaza price hike: Toll charges at Ladowal toll plaza, one of the busiest and most expensive toll points in Punjab, will be revised from April 1. The new rates will come into effect from midnight. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued a notification announcing a Rs 5 increase in toll charges across several vehicle categories.
Along with the rate revision, cash transactions at the toll plaza will be completely discontinued from April 1, making digital payment modes mandatory.
According to toll officials, cars, jeeps and vans will now be charged Rs 225 for a single journey, up from Rs 220. The round-trip fee has been increased to Rs 340 from Rs 335. For light commercial vehicles, mini buses and similar categories, the single-trip toll will rise from Rs 360 to Rs 365, while the return journey will cost Rs 550, compared to the earlier Rs 545.
The monthly pass fee has also been slightly increased from Rs 340 to Rs 350. Meanwhile, the annual pass, which allows up to 200 trips, will now cost Rs 3,075 instead of Rs 3,000.
Officials said that toll rates are revised annually based on the Wholesale Price Index (WPI). Factors such as road length, infrastructure like flyovers and underpasses and available facilities are also considered while determining the charges. However, some relief has been provided to local residents, who will continue to benefit from concessional arrangements as per existing norms.
