PTC Web Desk: A man has been arrested for alleged brutal murder of his wife after she reportedly failed to serve him dinner, the Karnataka police said on Thursday. He allegedly murdered his wife, decapitated her, besides skinning her body.

The woman's body was found lying in a pool of blood in their house. Her veins as well as intestines were visible as the accused had peeled off her skin. Her severed head was found lying next to her body. The police said the incident took place on Monday evening in Huliyurudurga town of Kunigal taluk, Karnataka.

The accused has been identified as Shivarama and deceased as Pushpalatha. The man worked at a sawmill. It is learnt that the couple did not share a cordial relationship and they would often indulge in arguments. On Monday evening too, the couple indulged into an argument when Pushpalatha reportedly did not serve dinner to her husband. Later, the arguments shifted over Shivarama's job.

In a fit of rage, Shivarama allegedly stabbed Pushpalatha to death and cut her head with a machine. He also allegedly cut parts of her body. He continued to skin her body until Tuesday evening and later reported the entire matter to his landlord. The couple has an eight-year-old son, who was sleeping at the time of the incident.

Tumkur Superintendent of Police Ashok Venkat said the accused had confessed to the crime.

He said Shivaram and Pushpa were married for 10 years and it was an inter-caste marriage.
