Man, woman shot dead in Bihar on suspicion of extra-marital affair
PTC News Desk: Unidentified persons allegedly shot dead a man and a woman in a village near Patna, Bihar, police said on Thursday.
According to officials, the incident occurred in a village within the Paliganj police station limits, where the victims were found dead with bullet wounds in a farmland. The incident was reported to the police by residents in the area.
Rajendra Yadav and Sharda Devi were identified as the victims.
"Today, we received information that two bodies had been found within the Paliganj police station limits," said Pritam Kumar, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO).
"Upon reaching the spot, we found that the two persons, a man and a woman, had been shot dead. Bullet shells were also recovered from the spot."
According to officials, it appears to be an extramarital affair on the initial probe, and an investigation has been launched.
"Reportedly, both the man and woman were married and were involved in an extra-marital relationship with each other," he said, adding, "A probe is currently underway to ascertain the details of this tragic incident."
The incident was being investigated further by police.
