Mann ki Baat: PM Modi envisions India-Europe-Middle East corridor as global trade foundation for centuries

Mann ki Baat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has highlighted the significance of the India-Middle East-Europe corridor in shaping the future of global trade. Drawing parallels to the historical Silk Route, which India once used as a prosperous trading path, Modi underscored that India proposed the India-Middle East-Europe economic corridor during the recent G20 Summit.

Speaking during his monthly Mann ki Baat broadcast, Modi expressed immense pride in India's achievements, including the successful G20 Summit and the Chandrayaan-3 mission. He noted that these accomplishments have resonated deeply with the citizens of India, doubling their happiness. Furthermore, Modi highlighted that India's leadership was recognized globally when it secured the African Union's membership in the G20.

The Bharat Mandapam, where the G20 Summit was hosted, has gained celebrity status, with people taking selfies in the state-of-the-art conference hall. Recognizing the upcoming World Tourism Day on September 27, Modi emphasized that tourism is a sector that generates maximum employment with minimal investment, underlining the importance of goodwill in attracting tourists. India's goodwill has been on the rise in recent years, bolstered by hosting the G20 meetings, where over one lakh foreign delegates explored the country's diversity and heritage.

Modi took pride in Santiniketan's association with Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore and the recognition of the Hoysala temples of Karnataka as world heritage sites, bringing the total number of such sites in India to 42. He reiterated India's commitment to seeking recognition for more cultural and heritage sites as World Heritage Sites.

With Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary approaching on October 2, Modi noted the global leaders paying homage at his memorial during the G20 Summit, highlighting the continued relevance of Gandhi's ideas on a global scale. He also expressed happiness about the cleanliness programs being planned to mark Gandhi's birth anniversary, including the 'Swachhta hi sewa' program launched by government departments.

Modi urged citizens to participate in the cleanliness program scheduled for October 1, emphasizing that it would be a true tribute to Gandhi ji. He encouraged people to support khadi products and, as the festival season approaches, emphasised the importance of the 'vocal for local' initiative by buying 'Made in India' products.
