Massive espionage network busted , eights arrests so far with four from Haryana, three from Punjab
PTC News Desk: A Pakistani spy network has been exposed with the arrest of another suspect in Haryana's Nuh on Monday. The arrest is latest in a series of nationwide crackdown on espionage network.
This was the second arrest in two days in the same area, with a case registered against three individuals, including two employees of the Pakistani High Commission, officials said.
In the recent days, several individuals have been arrested in connection with the April 22 Pahalgam attacks for allegedly sharing sensitive information with Pakistani agencies. So far Indian authorities have arrested at least eight people amid increased surveillance on espionage activities. At least four of these arrests were made in Haryana, three in Punjab, and one in Uttar Pradesh.
Following the arrest of Jyoti Malhotra, police was on alert with alarm that young influencers are being targeted by enemy countries. For easy money, such influencers go on the wrong path, said Hisar SP Shashank Kumar Sawan.
Besides Malhotra, police also arrested a 26-year old man from in Nuh for allegedly sharing sensitive information about the Indian Army and other military activities with Pakistan, through an employee at the Pakistani High Commission in Delhi.
Earlier this morning, a man was arrested in Uttar Pradesh by Anti-terrorism squad for sharing sensitive information with Pakistani agents. He was believed to be in constant touch with Pakistan's Inter-Service Intelligence.
