Student jumps off hostel building: India has witnessed surge into the cases of young student taking their life influenced by various factors. Several factors that have been associated with the rise in student suicides include, high expectations, intense competition, academic stress, peer relationships, bullying, discrimination, or societal expectations.

In the recent spine-chilling and horrific incident from Meerut, a 19-year-old BCA student takes life by jumping from hostel building of a private university.
The fateful incident unfolded on at the hostel of Meerut's Subharti University around 11.45 pm on December 17.
The victim identified as Shashi Ranjan Kumar is a resident of Bihar's Sitamarhi district and a first year BCA student at Meerut's Subharti University.
After the tragic incident, Shashi Ranjan Kumar was admitted to the Subharti Hospital but succumbed to injuries today.
Taking a swift action into the case, police delicately investigated the case but no suicide letter was found from Shashi Ranjan Kumar’s hostel room. As per the reports, it had been stated that the reason for the incident is love affair.
In the recent times, dreams of Indian youth pursuing education in other cities, states or country is turning into nightmares, with many grappling with mental health issues, robbery, missing cases, taking own life , etc.
Several such cases of have created a state of panic back home. Now parents are either not willing to send their children to another city or whose wards are already settled there are in a state of anxiety and panic.
