Mentally unstable man kills 5-year-old in front of family; mob beats accused to death
PTC Web Desk: In a shocking incident in Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh, a 24-year-old man, allegedly suffering from mental instability, fatally attacked a five-year-old boy inside his home, the police said. Following the attack, enraged villagers chased the accused, identified as Mahesh Mada, caught hold of him, and beat him severely. The accused later died from his injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital.
The police said Mahesh entered the boy’s house without permission, sat on a cot, and attacked the child with a sharp-edged weapon, leaving him dead on the spot. Villagers then intervened, physically assaulting him before the police arrived.
The police said Mahesh had been missing from his village for three days and was wandering alone in the area. He attacked the child without saying a word and appeared mentally disturbed.
The police also confirmed that the accused was not recognised by anyone in the village and was a resident of another district. Family members were searching for him, and his erratic actions had raised concerns about his mental health. He was hospitalised, but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries, the police said.
