Mumbai: 10-month-old baby dies after ambulance gets stuck for 5 hours in Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway jam
PTC News Desk: In a tragic incident, a 10-month old baby died on Thursday while he was on his way to the hospital and the ambulance carrying the baby got stuck in 5 hours traffic jam on Mumbai-Ahmedabad traffic jam.
A long queue of vehicles congested the National Highway due to the ongoing construction work on the Thane-Ghodbunder road, which connects to the highway.
The victim, Riyan Sheikh (2), a resident of Pelhar, fell from the fourth floor of a building on Thursday afternoon. He sustained severe abdominal injuries and was rushed to Galaxy Hospital nearby. After providing initial treatment, doctors advised that he be shifted to a larger hospital for advanced care.
The tragic incident has triggered massive outrage across the area with serious questions being raised over highway management, traffic control failures and the lack of priority given to ambulances in emergencies.
The residents have described the incident as yet another grim reminder of the consequences of poor traffic management.
