Mumbai police summons Ranveer Allahabadia again as Mumbai residence found locked, phone off
PTC News Desk: Mumbai police has once again summoned Youtuber Ranveer Allahabadia to appear for interrogation as part of probe into his controversial remarks on Youtube show after he failed to appear on Friday.
According to the officials, several teams of Mumbai police reached his residence on Friday but found the flat locked and his phone was switched off. “The Mumbai police, who have initiated an inquiry in connection with Ranveer Allahbadia's controversial remarks, on Friday went to his flat in Versova area but found it locked,” an official said.
Ranveer Allahabadia's crass remarks over physical relationship involving parents on now deleted Youtube show India's Got Latent have sparked massive outrage triggering slew of complaints from several people and organisations.
Meanwhile, an Assam police team also wants to question Allahbadia in a case registered in Guwahati on a complaint by a resident there for alleged promotion of obscenity in a publicly accessible online show, he said.
“Accordingly, teams of the Mumbai and Assam police went to Allahbadia's flat in Versova but found it locked. Both the police teams then returned to Khar police station,” the police official said.
The Maharashtra cyber cell has summoned at least 50 people for interrogation in connection with the case. The list also includes all the panelists from the previous episodes of the show India's Got latent.
