Navratri 2023| Ramlila Maidan: Riders stuck in air after ferris giant wheel at Delhi fair stops working midway, 20 rescued
Delhi Navratri Mela mishap: A joy ride that was meant to be fun during Navratri Mela took a hazardous turn as it get jammed midway at Delhi fair, leaving behind several riders with deteriorated health conditions, resulting in horrific and unsettling experience for passengers.
The incident took place at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi's outer north when a joyful ferris giant wheel developed some technical snag at Navratri mela and and malfunctioned midway, leaving people to experience horrific height scare with riders stuck in the air.
As per the statement from fire department official, a rescue call was received at fire department official at around 11:10 pm on Wednesday night from Subhash Ramlila Maidan that more than 20 people trapped on a giant swing.

Taking a swift action, two fire tenders were rushed to the spot, and 20 persons — four men, 12 women and four children were rescued safely from the swing.
Meanwhile, several videos of the incident went viral on social media platforms, showing several people being stuck in the air and fair authorities climbing up the giant wheel to rescue riders.
Although, no causalities have been reported in the incident but several riders felt uneasy due and some felt chest pain, headaches, vomiting and nausea for being stuck in the air.
The Delhi authorities are conducting a further investigation into the matter to determine the circumstances that led to the horrific mishap and ensure appropriate action is taken in response to the mishap.
