NIA arrests key accused in attack on Indian High Commission in London
PTC News Desk: In a big breakthrough, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested the key accused in the 2023 case involving the violent attack on the Indian High Commission in London, as well as unlawful conduct during the subsequent protests.
Inderpal Singh Gaba, a Hounslow, UK resident, has been arrested for engaging in unlawful activities during the March 22, 2023 protests.
So far, NIA investigations into the case have revealed that the incidents in London on March 19 and 22 of last year were part of a bigger plan to launch brutal attacks against Indian missions and officials.
The attacks in London in March 2023 were found to be in response to Punjab Police's action against pro-Khalistani separatist Amritpal Singh on March 18, 2023. Khalistani supporters pulled down the national flag at the Indian high commission in London during a protest over the crackdown on separatist forces at home.
