Bomb threat emails disrupt CBSE exams in Noida, Delhi schools; students evacuated
PTC Web Desk: Panic gripped several schools in Noida and Delhi on Thursday after bomb threat emails were received during ongoing Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examinations, forcing the authorities to evacuate campuses as a precautionary measure.
In Noida, at least 12 schools reported receiving threatening emails during exam hours. School administrations acted swiftly, moving students and staff out of the buildings and informing parents about the situation. Police teams, accompanied by bomb disposal squads and sniffer dog units, reached the campuses and began extensive search operations.
Officials said the evacuations were carried out smoothly to ensure the safety of children appearing for board examinations. After thorough checks, no suspicious items were found on the premises.
Similar incidents were reported in Delhi, where three schools received threat emails earlier in the day. According to officials, the affected institutions included CRPF Public School and St Thomas School in Dwarka, along with DAV Centenary Public School in Paschim Enclave. Emergency services, including fire tenders and rescue teams, were immediately deployed to the locations.
Teams from the police, bomb disposal units and local administration conducted detailed inspections at the schools. Authorities confirmed that preliminary searches did not reveal any explosive material. Sanitisation procedures were being carried out as an additional safety measure.
Cybercrime units have been alerted to trace the source of the emails and verify their authenticity. Investigations are ongoing, and officials are working to identify those responsible for the threats.
The incidents come at a time when students are appearing for their CBSE examinations, adding to anxiety among parents and school authorities. The police have urged the public to remain calm and assured that all necessary security protocols are being followed.
