Mamman Khan was arrested by Haryana police in connection with communal clashes that occurred during a 'shobha yatra' in Nuh district on July 31. The MLA, representing the Ferozepur Jhirka constituency, was taken into custody following initial questioning. Despite receiving a notice from the police to join the investigation, Khan failed to appear before the Nuh police on two occasions in the past two weeks.

Mobile internet services in Haryana's Nuh District will be suspended temporarily from 10:00 AM on September 15th until 11:59 PM on September 16. The Nuh District Superintendent of Police (SP) stated, "Section 144 CrPC has been enforced in Nuh, and we have urged the public to observe Friday prayers in the confines of their homes."
Sources have indicated that the MLA's involvement surfaced when his supporters were apprehended in connection with the violence that resulted in six fatalities. Law enforcement possesses evidence in the form of phone calls made by Khan to his supporters, raising the possibility of him being charged with incitement.
Anticipating potential unrest, Khan moved the court, requesting the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the violence and seeking protection from arrest. The high court issued a notice of motion to the state government earlier in the day. Pressure had been mounting on the government, with right-wing groups demanding the release of cow vigilante Monu Manesar and Khan's arrest for his alleged role in inciting his supporters.
