As votes started to be counted this morning, Mr. Modi's party quickly surged ahead, leading in 50 of Delhi's 70 seats, although the AAP managed to narrow the gap slightly. By 2:30 pm, with over 85 percent of the votes counted, the outcome was clear: the BJP was ahead in 48 seats, while the AAP held 22.
