PM Modi inaugurates Bengaluru Metro's Yellow line, flags off 3 Vande Bharat trains

PTC News Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Bengaluru today to launch a series of major transport projects aimed at transforming the city’s connectivity. His itinerary includes flagging off three Vande Bharat Express trains, inaugurating the Bengaluru Metro’s Yellow Line, laying the foundation stone for Phase-3 of the metro network, and addressing a public gathering.


In a post on X ahead of his visit, PM Modi wrote, "Look forward to being among the people of Bengaluru tomorrow, August 10. From the KSR Railway Station, 3 Vande Bharat Express trains will be flagged off which will enhance connectivity. In a boost for Bengaluru’s urban infrastructure, Yellow Line of Bengaluru Metro will be inaugurated. The foundation stone of the Bengaluru Metro Phase-3 will be laid. Will also be addressing a public programme in the city."

The Rs 15,610 crore Phase-3 project will add over 44 km of elevated tracks and 31 stations, significantly enhancing public transport and helping reduce congestion in the city.

Modi will conclude his visit with a public address at around 1 pm, where he is expected to highlight the government’s commitment to developing world-class transport infrastructure and improving quality of life for Bengaluru’s residents.
