PM Modi launches multifaceted development initiatives in Jammu, says ‘Article 370 was main hurdle’

PTC News Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a series of transformative projects worth Rs 32,000 crore in Jammu and Kashmir, addressing various sectors including health, education, transportation, energy, and civic infrastructure. In his speech, PM Modi emphasised that Article 370 was a major obstacle hindering the region's development.

The event witnessed the launch of the first Electric Train in the valley and the introduction of the train service between Sangaldan station and Baramulla station. Notably, the commissioning of the Banihal-Khari-Sumber-Sangaldan section marked the utilisation of Ballast Less Track (BLT) technology, promising enhanced comfort for passengers.


Additionally, PM Modi distributed appointment orders to around 1500 newly recruited government officials, reaffirming his commitment to the prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir. He expressed confidence in the region's potential, pledging to realize the aspirations of its people through the vision of 'Viksit Jammu and Kashmir'.

Addressing the audience, PM Modi underscored the transformative impact of scrapping Article 370, stating that the region is now on the path of comprehensive development. He urged support for the BJP and NDA in elections, citing the necessity of a strong mandate for further progress. Furthermore, PM Modi welcomed the upcoming release of a film on Article 370, anticipating that it would provide clarity and accurate information to the public.

The event also saw the presence of Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Minister Jitendra Singh, and other BJP leaders. Sinha praised the substantial decline in terrorism incidents, highlighting the improved security situation in the region.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh attributed the positive changes to the end of appeasement politics and the empowerment of marginalized communities. He commended PM Modi's leadership, affirming that the removal of Article 370 had enabled the realisation of long-awaited rights for various sections of society. The collective efforts and vision outlined during the event underscored a renewed commitment to the holistic development and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir under PM Modi's leadership.
