PTC News Desk: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday announced that the Monsoon Session of the Punjab Legislative Assembly will be held from August 3 to August 10. Addressing a press conference, the Chief Minister said several ordinances would be tabled during the session, and the duration could be extended if required.

Meanwhile, the upcoming Assembly session is expected to witness heated debates, with opposition parties likely to target the government over the law and order situation. The government may also seek more time to introduce amendments to the sacrilege law.

According to sources, the session will include the Supplementary Budget for the financial year 2026-27, bills to replace ordinances, and other important legislative business. The supplementary budget is being seen as significant ahead of the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections.

The previous session of the Punjab Assembly was held on April 30. After the proceedings concluded that day, the House was adjourned indefinitely, and the session was formally prorogued on May 7.
