Radhika Yadav murder: Actor Inam-ul-Haq, seen in music video with tennis player, denies personal ties with her
PTC Web Desk: Actor Inam-ul-Haq, who appeared in a viral music video alongside former tennis player Radhika Yadav, has clarified that he shared no personal connection with her beyond professional work. His statement comes after the tragic incident where Radhika was allegedly shot dead by her father, Deepak Yadav, at their residence in Gurugram’s Sushant Lok on Thursday.
Speaking to ANI from Dubai, I nam-ul-Haq said, “I first met Radhika during the Tennis Premier League in Dubai, and later again on the shoot of a music video. She came just for the project and left. We had no further contact. The production was unpaid, and we just gave her a good luck amount. The video is on YouTube and that’s why it is being brought up again.”
He also condemned efforts to give the case a religious angle, saying, “I don’t know why this is being turned into a Hindu-Muslim issue. I have nothing to do with the case. Radhika had no active social media accounts — only the music video exists online.”
According to police officials, 25-year-old Radhika Yadav was shot four times in the back by her father, a 51-year-old property dealer, while she was cooking in the kitchen during her mother Manju Yadav’s birthday. An autopsy confirmed the fatal gunshot wounds.
Deepak Yadav has confessed to the murder, citing social humiliation and patriarchal pride as motives. During interrogation, he told the police:"People in Wazirabad village mocked me, saying I was living off my daughter’s income. Some questioned her character. I asked her to shut down her tennis academy, but she refused. I felt insulted. Out of rage, I used my licensed revolver and shot her from behind."
Deepak was presented before a city court on Friday, where he was granted a one-day police remand for further questioning. Investigators say they are exploring multiple angles to verify the details of his confession.
Gurugram Police PRO Sandeep Kumar said, “So far, there is no motive other than the alleged taunts and the dispute over shutting down the tennis academy. We are also probing the role of Radhika’s mother, Manju Yadav, who may have had prior knowledge of the plan.”
