Rain lashes parts of Delhi, brings much-needed relief from heat & humidity
Delhi rainfall: A sudden rainfall hit many parts of Delhi in the early hours of Saturday, dropping temperatures in the capital.
Light rainfall was witnessed in the parts of south-west Delhi including Vasant Kunj, Munirka, and Narela.
Showers gave much-needed relief from the heat and humidity as India prepared to host the G20 Summit in New Delhi today and tomorrow.
According to the Regional Meteorological Centre in Delhi, the national capital will likely receive light rain this afternoon and tomorrow.
Today's maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be about 37 and 27 degrees Celsius, according to the Regional Meteorological Centre.
Heavy rains and the release of water from the Hathnikund barrage in Haryana earlier in July caused flooding in the national capital and surrounding areas.
IMD has also forecasted isolated heavy rain in Uttarakhand on September 9th and in East Uttar Pradesh from September 8th to September 10th.
