Haryana announces winter vacations for all schools from January 1 to 15
PTC Web Desk: The Directorate of School Education, Haryana, has announced winter vacations for all government and private schools across the state. As per the official orders issued by the Directorate, schools will remain closed from January 1, 2026, to January 15, 2026, in view of the winter season. All schools will reopen and resume regular classes on Friday, January 16, 2026.
In this regard, the Directorate of School Education, Panchkula, has issued detailed instructions to all District Education Officers (DEOs), District Elementary Education Officers (DEEOs), Block Education Officers (BEOs), Block Elementary Education Officers (BEEOs), and heads/in-charges of schools. The order clearly states that strict compliance with the holiday guidelines must be ensured by all authorities concerned.
The Directorate has also clarified that during the winter vacation period, students of Classes 10 and 12 may be called to schools for practical examinations, if required, as per the prescribed schedule and norms of CBSE, ICSE, and other education boards. This provision will apply strictly to board classes only.
According to the School Education Department, the decision has been taken keeping the winter weather conditions in mind, with the aim of prioritising the health and safety of students. The order has been issued by the Assistant Director (Academics) on behalf of the Director of Secondary Education, Haryana.
