Ranchi: 15 students injured as school bus overturned in Ranchi

Ranchi: As many as fifteen children were injured after a school bus overturned in Ranchi on Saturday morning, near the water park in Brambe, within the Mandar police station area. 

 Around 30 children were aboard the bus when it overturned near a turning, approximately 100 meters from St. Maria School in Mandar. 


Initial investigations suggest that the accident occurred due to the driver losing control while navigating a sharp turn. 

Upon receiving the information, a team from the Mandar police station promptly responded to the scene. Mandar police station in-charge Rahul Kumar, assisted by local residents, swiftly extricated the children from the overturned bus and rushed them to the hospital. The bus belonged to St. Maria School.

Eyewitnesses reported that the bus was en route to the school when the incident took place. 

Collaboratively, the police and locals shattered the rear glass of the bus, facilitating the safe extraction of the children. Ambulances and police vehicles transported the injured children to the nearby hospital for medical attention.

Officer-in-charge of Mandar police station Rahul Kumar stated that around 15 children sustained injuries and are currently under observation at the nearby Mission Hospital

An investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
