Sanatana Dharma remark row: A Supreme Court lawyer filed a complaint with Delhi Police on Sunday against Udhayanidhi Stalin, Sports Minister of the Government of Tamil Nadu and son of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, for making a controversial statement about 'Santana Dharma' on Saturday.

Vineet Jindal, a practising lawyer, filed a complaint alleging that Udhayanidhi Maran made a provocative, inflammatory, derogatory, and inciting statement against Sanatan Dharam in a speech.

Complainant Lawyer Vineet Jindal stated, "Being a Hindu and Sanatan dharma follower, my religious sentiments are hurt by statements made by Udhayanidhi Stalin called for eradicating Sanatan dharma and further comparing Sanatan with Mosquitoes, dengue, corona, and malaria."

The complaint went on to say that Udhayanidhi Maran's statements show his hate for Sanatan Dharma. "He is an MLA and Minister in the Karnataka Government who took an oath to work according to our country's constitution and must respect all regions, but he deliberately issued a provocative and defamatory statement for the Sanatan Dharma with the intent of promoting enmity between religious groups," he said.

Using words like "eradication of Santana dharma" and comparing Dharma to mosquitoes, dengue fever, corona, and malaria, and stating that "these things which we cannot oppose, we must eradicate. Sanatanam is the same way. Eradication and not opposing Sanatanam must be our first task," shows his desire to advocate for and promote the genocide of Hindu dharma followers, says the complaint.

By making such a statement, Udhayanidhi Stalin has violated sections 153A and B, 295A, 298, and 505 of the Indian Penal Code, which are cognizable and serious offences. I, therefore, request you to lodge an FIR against him under the above-said section," the complainant said.

Udhayanidhi Stalin’s remarks

According to the complainant, Udhayanidhi Stalin called for a 'Sanatana Abolition Conference' while speaking at an event.

 “I congratulate the organizers for calling the conference as “eradication of Santana dharma' instead of 'opposing Sanatana Dharma,' Udhayanidhi Stalin said.

"There are some things that we have to eradicate and we can’t merely oppose. Mosquitoes, dengue, corona, and malaria are things that we cannot oppose, we have to eradicate them. Sanatanam is also like this. Eradication and not opposing Sanatanam has to be our first task," he added.
