SC revokes bail of Olympian Sushil Kumar in Sagar Dhankar murder case, orders surrender within a week
PTC Web Desk: The Supreme Court on Wednesday cancelled the bail granted to two-time Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar, the prime accused in the murder of junior national wrestling champion Sagar Dhankar. A Bench comprising Justices Sanjay Karol and Prashant Kumar Mishra overturned the Delhi High Court’s March 4 order that had allowed Kumar’s release on bail.
The top court’s decision came in response to a petition filed by Sagar Dhankar’s father, Ashok Dhankad, challenging the high court order. Reading out the operative part of the judgment, Justice Karol directed Sushil Kumar to surrender within one week.
