ED raids premises linked to Punjab minister Sanjeev Arora in PMLA case
PTC News Desk: The Enforcement Directorate on Saturday conducted fresh raids at premises linked to Punjab minister Sanjeev Arora as part of a money laundering investigation.
The ED team raided Arora's official residence in Chandigarh at 5 am, according to sources. Around eight vehicles of ED officials were seen parked outside the residence during the operation.
The latest action marks third raid at Arora's premises.
In April, the ED had carried out raids on Arora and firms associated with him under the civil provisions of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).
At the time, Arora had said he would cooperate fully with investigating agencies and expressed confidence that the truth would come out. The Sanjeev Arora had also faced ED raids in 2024 in connection with a money laundering case linked to the alleged misuse of industrial land for residential projects.
Reacting to the fresh searches, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said in a post on X that the ED had once again raided Sanjeev Arora’s residence. He noted that it was the third raid in a year and the second within a month, while claiming that nothing had been recovered despite repeated searches.

Taking a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mann said Punjab, “the land of Gurus and Bhagat Singh,” would not bow down. He also said the state would resist what he described as politically motivated action carried out through an “ED-BJP alliance.”
