Security forces neutralise 10 Maoists in encounter in Chhattisgarh; weapons recovered

PTC News Desk: At least 10 Maoists, including three females, were killed in a confrontation with security forces at Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur-Kanker Border on Tuesday, according to officials.

According to the police, a joint team of District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Special Task Force (STF) jawans left for a Maoist operation in Abujmarh, near the Narayanpur-Kanker border, on Monday.


At around 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Maoists clashed with a joint DRG-STF security unit in a forest.

"At 6 a.m. on April 30, the police party encountered Maoists in the jungle between the villages of Tekmeta and Kakur. During the investigation of the incident site following the encounter, the bodies of 10 Maoist cadres, including three female Maoists, were found and are being identified," the statement continued.

A large number of weapons, including an AK-47, were also found at the encounter location.
