Senior cop's 10-year-old son hit and crushed to death while skating in Lucknow
Lucknow, November 22: A tragic incident shook Lucknow as a 10-year-old boy, the son of a senior police officer, met a fatal fate while practicing skating. The boy, Namish, was skating in the upscale Gomti Nagar Extension area around 5:30 am on Tuesday when a speeding SUV struck him and sped away. Despite immediate medical attention, Namish succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The hit-and-run case triggered an urgent response from law enforcement. Deputy Commissioner of Police Ashish Srivastava spearheaded five teams to track down the elusive SUV and its driver. Through a meticulous examination of CCTV footage near the site, authorities made headway in their investigation.
Their efforts bore fruit as the SUV involved in the incident was successfully traced. Two individuals, Sarthak Singh and Devshri Verma, were apprehended in connection with the tragic accident.
The victim, Namish, was the son of Additional Superintendent of Police Shweta Shrivastava. Shweta, who previously served at the Gomti Nagar police station, had been relocated to a special investigation team as an additional superintendent of police.
