PTC News Desk: A shockingly brutal case of child abuse at a private school in Panipat, Haryana has come to light, triggering massive outrage. In one video, a Class 2 student was tied with ropes, hung upside down from a window, and beaten up by the school driver for not completing homework.

Doli, a resident of Mukhija Colony, said her seven-year-old son had only recently enrolled in the school. She alleged that principal Reena instructed driver Ajay to punish him, after which he assaulted the child. Ajay allegedly slapped the boy, abused him during video calls with his friends, and even posted the recording online.

The video eventually reached the boy’s family, revealing the mistreatment. Another clip that went viral shows principal Reena herself slapping and beating young children in front of their classmates. She later tried to justify her actions, claiming the children had misbehaved with two girls and that she had already informed the parents before disciplining them.

Her explanation, however, violates education ministry norms that strictly ban corporal punishment. Parents further alleged that students were sometimes made to clean toilets as a form of discipline.

After a complaint was lodged, Model Town police registered a case under several provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015, and assured strict action against those responsible.

The incident has triggered widespread anger among parents and activists, who say it underscores the pressing need to enforce child protection laws more rigorously in schools.
