Top LeT terrorist and Hafiz Saeed's close associate Abu Qatal killed in Pakistan's Punjab
PTC News Desk: Lashkar-e-Taiba's most wanted terrorist Abu Qatal was shot dead on Saturday in Pakistan's Punjab province. He is known to be a key operative of the terror outfit for orchestrating multiple attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the reports, Abu Qatal whose real name is Zia-ur-Rehman was travelling with his security guard in the Jhelum area around 7 pm when unknown assailants opened 15-20 rounds of fire killing Abu Qtal and one of his security guard on the spot, while another one sustained serious injuries.
Heavy security from the both the Pakistan Army Lashkar-e-Taiba and was deployed for Abu Qatal.
Abu Qatal, a close associate of 26/11 Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed, played a key role in the June 9 attack on a bus carrying pilgrims returning from the Shiv Khori temple in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district. The attack was carried out under Qatal’s leadership.
Hafiz Saeed had appointed Abu Qatal as the Chief Operational Commander of Lashkar, entrusting him with executing major attacks in Kashmir based on his directives.
